College of Pavlodar State University named after S.Toraigyrov
The college of PSU after S.Toraigyrov was formed in 2001 on the initiative of the rector, Aryn Erlan Mukhtarovich. The college is a structural part of the university. Lycence AA 0000038 is issued in December, 2001.
Director of the college is a high category teacher, an outstanding worker of education, member of the working group on State Standards of Education creation, delegate of the IIId Congress of Education Workers, Republic of Kazakhstan Outstanding worker of education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Yerjanova Rymtai Kabyshevna.
The college is a multi-discipline secondary special educational institution, effecting the training of specialistsin various directions in the state, Kazakh, and the Russian languages using both internal and by-correspondence forms of instruction.
The main aim of the development of the college is training of eminently qualified specialists, meeting the demands of modern market of labor, shaping the intellectual potential of a personality on the base of the students’ active participation in the process of learning, in the research work, inculcate methods of self-training in the students.
Material-Technical Basis of the College
The area of the building is 13348 square metres including 9905 square metres of practice-laboratory buildings. Economic and technical basis of the college meets the requirements of State Standards of Education.
The area of sports buildings is 6534 square metres. The college has gymnasiums, gyms of athletics and wrestling, a stadium with football field and a race-track. Sports areas meet the requirements of educational process and allows to organize mass sanitary work both on the university and city level. The college has a library named after S. Beisembayev. The library fund is constantly replenishing. The repertoire of the library materials has electronic character and includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, reference books in different specialties, disk-cases with appendixes to different journals: electronic reference journals, electronic text-books in different specialties, training courses in Kazakh, Russian, English, and German languages.
There is a computer center created for the college. All the computers are switched to the Internet, there is a commutable line and a digital system of NTV-plus satellite television, which enable providing the Internet and receiving 54 channels of television in 5 languages. There is a multimedia library, in which there are over 250 video and CD programs for teaching students. On the basis of the united information-telecommunication network all subdivision and services are engulfed by a calculating computer network, for which purpose this Internet network, operating under the control of three servers, was created. An Internet-café and a multimedia computer class have been started here.
Major lines for research and development
Today, in an era of new technologies and the progress of scientific thought, a somewhat different visible activities of secondary schools. One of the main priorities in this area becomes a research activity. That level of science defines college as a major educational center.
In college, the development of science and building scientific and human potential is a strategically important task.
Organizing and participating in conferences
It has become a tradition to organize intracollege scientific and theoretical conference of students “Kazakhstan tomorrow- the youth today”. The number of participants becomes bigger and bigger every year, and the content of the reports becomes more and more interesting, topical, and mature. The style of the reports is improving too.
The 8th intracollege scientific and practical conference “Kazakhstan tomorrow- the youth today” was held in 2010. Faculty deans, heads of departments, leading scholars of PSU after S.Toraigyrov took part in it. The conference has become a significant event in the life of college. 135 students participated in the conference. There were 13 sections in different sciences. The winners of the conference became the participants of the Republic conference “Satpayev Readings”.
Postgraduate education
Professional training in college is carried out through candidacy. 16 teachers are applicants. 44 teachers passed the examinations in volume of a candidate minimum on philosophy, the Kazakh language, a foreign language.
The lecturer of history Razdykov S.Z., Yerjanova R.K., Zyuldubaeva has successfully defended in 2006 PhD thesis in one of the leading universities of Siberia - Tomsk state university. One of the tasks of scientific and technical service is edition of methodological literature in the state and Russian languages.
College teachers saw see one of effective ways of increase of professional skill in research activity.
There is a high-grade and purposeful support to competitors of scientific degrees. They receive all necessary business trips and material aid in release of results of scientific researches. The university has 4 scientific editions where applicants have the opportunity to publish their articles.
Creation of educational and methodical providing educational process
Teachers have developed courses of lectures, methodical instructions on carrying out laboratory and a practical training, aids on studying the disciplines, course work and diploma design, tests. The growth dynamics of quantity of the educational and methodological aids issued by our teachers has essentially increased.
Research activity of students
The scientific society of students and Council of young scientists exist in college in order to improve the efficiency of research works, to enlarge the number of students and teachers to researches.
Result of scientifically-methodical activity of pedagogical collective of college is the diploma of 2 degree awarded in September, 2008, for participation in the competition «The best scientific and methodical Service in Kazakhs
Educational Work
The educational work in the teaching staff of the college is a goal-directed process of the interaction between the teachers and the students, in the course of which instructive and educational activity of the teacher is realized in the unity with instructive-cognitive and self educating activity of the students.
The primary task of the educational activity of the teaching staff of the college of of PSU after S.Toraigyrov is provision of high-level fundemental training of skilled specialists, evaluation of the students’ efficiency in their learning.
The college conducts training in 12 specialties with full-time and part-time forms in Kazakh and Russian languages in 2010 year.
The dinamics of students progress reveals the raising level of graduate instruction. This is determined by the use of efficient technologies in teaching, interaction between the teaching staff of the college with departments of the university, the growth of the professional level and creative activity of the teaching staff.
PSU College has a skilled teaching staff. 120 teachers give reliable knowledge to the students. Among them there are 38 teachers with top category and 12 teachers of the first category.
The students confirm their knowledge at Olimpiads, creative potency contests, scientific and practical conferences: Republic 2007-2008 contest “Makhambetovskiye chteniya” - 2 place, regional contest “Tsvetaevskiye chteniya”- 5 prize places, regional olimpiad in sciences of law-1st place, regional olimpiad “Znatoki Istorii’-3d place.
Deep knowledge of college graduates demonstrated during the State Accreditation is the result of the work of the teaching staff.
Cultural and Sports Life
Our college affords an opportunity for the development of creative skills of the students. You can take part in different college contests, exhibitions of design art, photoexhibitions. The work of Debate club, KVN “X-Ray”, “Press Club”, “Azhar” Youth club are organized at college.
Team Kazaksha KVN "Yrzhi" College PSU .S.Toraigyrov up to the games won the Cup of KVN teams among colleges and universities of the Pavlodar region, and in October-month won the Cup for the prize of the KVN akim of Pavlodar.
During the year the students have opportunities to demonstrate their skliis in music and dancing and to take part in youth actions on a city level.
Sports life in college is very diverse and interesting. “Day of Health” is held annually, such sports activities as mini-football, table tennis, basketball contests are held regularly.
The college of PSU team took part in the IVth sports meeting among colleges. The contest was held in the following kinds of sports: basketball, voleyball, “Presidential mile”, table tennis, weght sport. The college youth team won the 1st place, girls team won the 1st place among college sports teams.
Juridicial instruction of college students takes place in the center “Femida”, which includes 7 clubs organized in all departments with instruction both in Kazakh and Russian languages.
It has become a good tradition at college to organize students decades of self-management. For 10 days the students become the hosts of the college. Nobody is indifferent during these days, everybody cares. The goal of the decade is to socialize students, to perfect their management culture, to solve the problems of the protection of students’ rights and freedoms.
