History of the Faculty

The Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology was established by the order of the Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU in June 2003. In previous years, the Department was headed by Professor of the Department of General and Theoretical Physics, Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor Sadriten Kabdygaliyevich Tleukenov (2003-2010), Professor of the Department of Informatics and Informational Systems, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Zhanat Kunapiyanovna Nurbekova (2010-2011), Professor of the Department of Physics and Instrumentation, Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Nurlybek Aydargaliyevich Ispulov (from 2011 to the present time).

Nurlybek Aydargaliyevich Ispulov, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Corresponding Member of IIA, Professor of the Department of Physics and Instrumentation.

Education: higher; S. Toraighyrov PSU, Physics (1997-2001). Master’s degree in Physics from S. Toraighhyrov Pavlodar State University (2001-2003)

Title of the Candidate’s dissertation: Analytical solution of coupled problems of thermoelasticity in anisotropic media using the matriciant method

Courses taught: Physics, Models of Continuum Mechanics, Wave Processes, Theory of Physical Fields, Materials Science, Constructional Materials and Their Defects.

Professional experience: 14 years

  • Publications: over 80 publications

Field of research: wave processes in thermoelastic anisotropic media

Professional achievements: a grant of the akim of Pavlodar oblast (September 2006), an internship at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai, June 2012), an internship grant for study at the School of Young Scientists in relation to the Shanghai Organization of Cooperation (SOC), Moscow, October 2013, a letter of appreciation from the MES of the Republic of Kazakhstan (May 2014).

 

Nurgul Zhumagaziyeva Zhuspekova, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Master of Physics

Education: higher, Nurgul Zhumagaziyeva graduated from S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Physics and Informatics (1989-1994);
she completed a Master’s degree program in Physics at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State university (2006-2007)

Title of the Master’s thesis: Intermolecular interaction modeling

Courses taught: Physics, Physics of Semiconductors, Condensed-matter Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, Mechanics.

Professional experience: 14 years

Field of research: wave processes in thermoelastic anisotropic media

Professional achievements: “Best Curator” Award of the University (supervising third-year students majoring in Physics).

a PhD research program in Mathematics at L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (2006-2009)

Title of the Master’s thesis: Congruence theory in groups

Title of the PhD thesis: Classes of functions, Fourier coefficients and the best polynomial approximation with respect to Walsh and Haar generalized systems (dissertation advisor: N. A. Bokayev, Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University)

Courses taught: Functional Analysis (in English), Special Chapters of Mathematical Analysis, Fundamentals of Algebra, Professionally-oriented Foreign Language (the English language).

Field of research: Fourier series and transform, wavelet analysis

Professional achievements: a winner of the Bolashak Presidential Scholarship Program, 2012 (Dalhousie University); a participant of a research program financed by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), grant No. 34698 “Multidimensional continuous wavelet transform” (Canada, Halifax, September, 2013); a junior research associate of the project titled “Structural and constructive characteristics of functions of many variables, multiple series with respect to various orthogonal systems and Fourier integrals” supervised by Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor of L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University N. A. Bokayev (2015-2017).

 

Assem Tulegenovna Abenova, Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Master of Informatics
