Graduate school

The graduate school is located in the main building in 64, Lomov street, rooms А-219 (а), contact phone numbers 67-36-89, internal 11-84.

Training of MA students at PSU named after S. Toraigyrov is carried out in 44 specialties.

The numbers of Masters are formed by means of placing the state educational grants for preparation of scientific and pedagogical staff, and by own citizen’s payment and other sources for studying.

People of Kazakh nationality, being the citizens of other states, may enter Magistracy after getting higher education as well as the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

People without the citizenship of our country, constantly living in the Republic of Kazakhstan, may get Master Degree on a competitive basis according to the state educational order free of payment after getting higher education if they get the education of this level for the first time.

Other foreign citizens are accepted to higher educational institutions by the legislation that is established by the Republic of Kazakhstan, and by international contracts ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Training in the MA course in the scientific and pedagogical direction makes 2 years, in the profile MA course in natural-scientific and humanitarian directions makes 1 year, and in the technical direction it makes 1,5 year.

Training of MA students is carried out by a highly skilled faculty of doctors, candidates of sciences and masters.

During his/her training in the MA course, an MA student who is a grant possessor has an opportunity to have one 10 days’ state budgeted business trip to the near or far abroad for training, gathering data and consulting within the theme of their master’s dissertations. MA students who are grant possessors and who pass their examination sessions with excellent grades, which have research publications and actively participate in the public life of the university can apply for scholarships of PSU named after S. Toraigyrov. In 2008, Issina Gulnara Toishybekovna, an MA student in the specialty "Construction", was awarded the scholarship of K. Satpayev. In 2009, Azerbaev Aslan Dybysbekovich was awarded by K.Satpaeva personal grant of PSU named after S.Toraigyrov for the speciality 6M0203 "History" and Mazhimova Meruert Berikovna for the speciality 6M0731 «Safe life-activity and environment protection».

By results of their research work MA students participate in scientific-practical conferences of various ranks held in the Republic of Kazakhstan and countries of the near abroad, as well as publish their research articles in the research journals published at PSU named after S. Toraigyrov, in the research journals published in the Republic of Kazakhstan and countries of the near abroad.2-year master student of History Azerbaev Aslan Dybysbekovich in 2010 participated in the search expedition «Майдан жолы»  on Sinyavinskaya heights of the Kirov District of Leningrad Oblast, an area called "Memorial Zone" Hope ". As a result of the expedition was awarded the Order of the Chief VIC Armed Forces of the Russian Federation № 79 badge "For the active search.

Reception of applications to MA course is conducted annually from July, 1 till July, 30st. Applicants to MA course submit the following documents to the selection committee:

• Personal application addressed to the rector;
• Diploma with the appendix (original) and a copy of the diploma with the appendix about higher education, which should be certified notarially;
• 6 photographs of 3 cm x 4 cm size;
• Medical certificate of the form № 086 ;
• A copy of scientific publications (if any);
• A copy of the identification card;
• A copy of the military account document (for those liable for military service);
• An envelope and a stringed folder.

Entrance examinations are taken from August, 1 till August, 20. The applicants for an MA course take entrance examinations in a foreign language and the selected specialty.

For better results in a foreign language examination the university, viz. the Scientific-Practical Center for Intense Kazakh Language Learning, arranges paid training language classes in July.

Acceptance to the MA course under the state educational grants is held after the consideration of the results of a foreign language test and an examination on the selected specialty on a competitive basis till August, 30 the admissions department of the University and is confirmed by the University rector’s order.

Acceptance to the MA course under the state educational grant and on a paid basis is possible for those applicants who got not less than 8 points in a foreign language test and the selected specialty examination (5 points in each component being the highest score).

Lenkov Juriy Arkadyevich Graduate school Dean Candidate of technical sciences, professor He graduated from the Power engineering faculty of Pavlodar industrial institute in 1969 in the specialty “Electrical power stations” and began to work at PII as a faculty member. He was trained at a postgraduate course of Moscow Power Engineering Institute and in 1983 protected his candidate’s thesis in the specialty 05.14.02 – “Electric power plants, networks and systems and their control. During his work at PSU named after S. Toraigyrov he traveled a road from an assistant to the professor of “Electric power engineering” department. At different periods he was dean of faculty for energetics, head of the department for “Electrical power plants”, then, in connection with the department renaming, head of the department “Production and distribution of electrical power energy”, and in the subsequent time he was head of the department “Electrical power plants and power supply systems automation”. In 2004 he was appointed dean of the MA course. The area of his scientific research is electrical power engineering. He published more than 60 treatises, workbooks and manuals, including the reception of 6 inventor's certificates of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Two of his developed devices were exhibited at the All-Union Exhibition of National Economy Achievements and were awarded by bronze medals. He was decorated by the breastplate “Inventor of the USSR”. For his long and fruitful work he was repeatedly awarded with letters of commendation of the University and certificates of honor of Pavlodar oblast trade unions committee of education workers of higher school and research institutions. The RK Ministry of Education and Sciences thanked him officially for the big personal contribution to the development of education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He decorated by the breastplate “Winner of socialist competition” (1979, 1980). In 2005 he was awarded the title “Honorable worker of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
