Objectives of LUMD: 

  • providing PSU students and staff with literature and periodicals in the reading rooms to facilitate the training, educational and scientific processes, as well as providing users with access to electronic full-text databases, such as Law, SEL, NIEL, NCSTI;
  • improving the forms and methods of literature promotion with a view to improving the quality of education;
  • developing a culture of reading among students and university staff. 

 

Functions of LUMD: 

  • providing readers with scientific and methodological, reference, and educational literature in reading rooms of the scientific library;
  • registering new readers, introducing them to the rules and resources of the Scientific Library;
  • providing open access to the republican and local press periodicals;
  • organizing book fairs;
  • holding literature reviews, readers’ conferences, book presentations, meetings with creative people, round tables meetings and library competitions;
  • forming auxiliary resources in accordance with curricula, programs and information requests from readers;
  • providing safety and correct arrangement of the Library resources at book storages, reading rooms and book delivery desks.
