Faculty of History and Law was established on June 20, 2003, as a result of the reorganization of the Institute of Humanities of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. Dean of the Faculty of History and Law is Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor A.I. Begimtayev. The teaching staff of the Faculty includes Doctors of Sciences, Professors A.A. The training of the specialties is based on the functioning of qualified material and technical basis. It includes equipped and special purpose lecture rooms, a library stock with the reader’s card service, computer halls, a criminalistics lecture room, a courtroom, a cybercafé, a media library and space television.

In the process of training students undergo archaeological, museum, ethnological, archival, pedagogical and other types of practical training in the bodies of interior affairs, advocacy, public prosecutor’s office, enterprises, organizations and institutions of the city and region.

History and Law Faculty is composed of 4 Departments:

Head of the Department

Amergaly Ilyashevich Begimtayev, Dean of the Faculty of History and Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Studies, Candidate of Political Sciences.

He graduated from Pavlodar Industrial Institute in 1984 with a degree in Industrial Heat Power Engineering. From 1984 to 1990, he worked at Pavlodarenergo and Pavlodar State Experiment Station. He served in the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 1990 to 2003.

From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a lecturer and senior lecturer of the Department of History and Theory of State and Law. He was a Deputy Dean for Education from September of 2006 to 2008 and Deputy Dean for General Affairs starting from 2008.

He defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Political Sciences in 2010.

He published 3 study guides, 40 articles.

Tamara Yuryevna Bil, Vice-dean for General Affairs of the Faculty of History and Law, senior lecturer of the Department of Philosophy and Culturology.

S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Bachelor's degree program in History (2001-2005). S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Master's degree program (2006-2008). Assistant lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer of the Department of Philosophy and Culturology (since 2008). She has published 13 articles. Certificates: Axiological Unity of Kazakh Culture and Philosophy; Application of Distance Learning Technologies in Educational Process, Elsevier Author Seminar on How to Get Published in Scientific Journals, Topical Problems of Modern Philosophy, Kazakh Language: Records Management (Intermediate Level); Ethnogenesis and Ethnic History of the Kazakh People, etc. She has letters of appreciation from the MES of RK.

Courses taught: Religious Studies, Cultural Studies, History of World Culture, World Art.

Shynar Kayratovna Suleymenova, lecturer of the Department of History of Kazakhstan (since 2013)

Graduated from Pavlodar State University, the Faculty of History. At PSU since 2008.

Master's degree programme in Archaeology and Ethnology at Pavlodar State University named after S. Toraigyrov (2008 - 2010).

Assistant at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies (2010).

In 2013, she was transferred to the position of lecturer of the Department of History of Kazakhstan.

Sh.K. Suleymenova constantly improves her professional level, has certificates for the following advanced training courses: "The Unity of Content and Values of Kazakh Culture and Philosophy" (April 2011), "Modern Discourse of the Philosopy of Social Sciences", "New Problems in History: Methods and Methodology of Research" (June 2011). Professional qualities: diligence, pursuit of perfection, fairness of judgement.

Anara Yeskenovna Zhakisheva, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs (Working with Distant Learning Students) of the Faculty of History and Law, Master of Laws, senior lecturer of the Department of Legal Studies.

Education: Almaty State University named after Abay, Almaty. Bachelor's degree program in Legal Studies (1997-2002); Femida Law Academy, Master's degree program in 6M030100 Jurisprudence (2009-2011).

Professional experience: S. Toraighyrov PSU (2002-2005), PHLI KazHLU (2005-2007), senior lecturer of the Department of Legal Studies of S. Toraighyrov PSU (since 2007). Professional experience as a counsel: 7 years.

Courses taught: Theory of State and Law, Private International Law, Labor Law of RK. Author of a study guide in Labor Law of RK for students in Legal Studies. She has an implementation act. Author of 15 research papers.

Professional qualities: sociability, responsibility, organizational skills.

Material base

The educational process takes place in specialized lecture rooms: in the courtroom, in "Ethnic and Cultural Studies", "Political Science", "Sociology", "Criminalistics", "Constitutional Law", "History and Theory of State and Law" and "World History" lecture rooms equipped with computers, there is also a forensic laboratory.

Faculty of History and Law provides wide opportunities for comfort living, health improvement, sports and physical development, spiritual and cultural enrichment. The University has a Student’s House (a modern dormitory), student cafes and canteens, recreation in Bayanaul, gyms, music orchestra of folk instruments, vocal, choreographic and dancing groups, СFI, and more.

Involvement of students of the faculty in scientific activity

Starting from the first year at the University, students get involved in the scientific and research work. The University holds a traditional scientific conference of young scientists, students, pupils “Satpayev’s Readings”, the materials of which are published in many volumes. This conference received international status in 2007. The students of the faculty participate in conferences in different cities of Kazakhstan and CIS countries. They take part in the research activity of "The

History and Ethnography of the Region Research Center Named after E. Bekmakhanov", Archaeological Center named after A.Kh. Margulan, Regional Interethnic and Interconfessional Research Center, the Regional Information and Analytical Center, the PR Department of the University, international organizations, and carry out students' scientific research within the Zhas Galym research project. Over 100 students participate in research work every year.

- Internship of Doctor of Historical Science, professor S.N. Mamytova (Moscow, Russian Federation), Candidate of Historical Science, Associate Professor Z Zh. Mardanova (the USA) under the "Bolashak" international program.

- Implementation of the external academic mobility in foreign countries (Poland) for the Master's degree students in 6M050200-Political Science (A. Tyrtykayeva, S. Karimova).

- Participation of the students in the research projects conducted under the Zhas Galym program.

- II team place and III place in individual ranking of the student of Jur-302 group E.N. Fedorova in the Republican Olympiad among students (Astana), specialty: 5В030100 - Jurisprudence.

- According to the results of "National Ranking - 2011" among educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organized by the National Accreditation Center of the MES, the bachelor specialties of our faculty took the following places: 5В020400-Cultural Studies - 1st place, 5В050200-Political Science - 2nd place, 5В020300-History - 3rd place. According to the results of the same ranking in 2012, specialty 5В050200-Political Science took the 3rd place.

- Doctor of Juridical Science G.B. Akhmedzhanova was awarded the title of full member of the International Informatization Academy; Candidate of Political Science, Associate Professor I.A. Kaliyev, Candidate of Political Science, Associate Professor G.A. Altynbasarova, Candidate of Historical Science K.B. Kosyntayev were awarded the title of Associate Member of the International Informatization Academy.

- G.N. Aubakirova (student of the K-202 group), A.K. Yerzhanova (Pol-302), U.A. Aubakirova, K.K. Maykenov (Kt-201 (k)), M.S. Akhmetov (Jur-204), D. Kh. Baymagambetov, Ye.N. Fedorova (Jur-302) were awarded the Presedential scolarships. The student of the Jur-202(s) group D.E. Yelemesova was awarded the scholarship named after Mashkhur-Zhusup, student of the Tar-201 group M.I. Rakhimov was awarded the scholarship named after A. Bekturov.

- Ensuring a high level of social protection of students (providing discounts on tuition fees, Akim scholarships). Provision of benefits (dormitory, free single meal, compensation for the use of public transportation) to students from vulnerable social groups.

Organization of the republican scientific-practical conference "Science, Philosophy and Religion: Interaction in Modern Education" dedicated to the 75th birthday of Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor K.Sh. Shulembayev, international scientific conference «Religion and Nationality» devoted to Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the 10th anniversary of the Central Mosque named after Mashkhur Zhusup, international scientific and practical conference "Eurasian Project, Socio-Economic and Humanitarian Dimension" powered by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan with the participation of representatives of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the Republican Scientific-Practical Conference "D.A. Kunayev and Historical Stages of

Development of Kazakhstan", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of D.A. Kunaev, the international scientific conference "Statehood and the Great Steppe", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence and 300th anniversary Abylai Khan.
