History of the making the department
The department of foreign philology was founded in 2006 as a result of reorganization of the department of theory and practice of the German language and theory and practice of the English language, which was founded in 1974 to train bachelors of philology with the English, German, Kazakh and Russian working languages.
The department of foreign philology became a part of the Faculty of Humanities and Education in September 2008.
Since 1st September 2008 the department has been training bachelors of the specialty 5В011900 “Foreign language: two foreign languages”, 5B0205 Philology: the foreign language.
Since 1st September, 2010- 5В011900 “Foreign language: two foreign languages” (full time educational form on the basis of general secondary education), 5В011900 “Foreign language: two foreign languages” (full and part time educational forms on the basis of secondary professional education), 5В02100 “Foreign Philology” (full time educational form on the basis of general secondary education).
The staff of the department contains 12 units. The members of the department are 3 Ph.D., they are Kairbaeva A.K., Jarmakin O.K., Dukembai G.N.; 5 Master of philology, 1 Master of linguistics and 2 competitors for Ph.D.
The research of the staff is conducted in the sphere of philology and linguistics on the basis of the English, German, Kazakh and Russian languages and the methods of teaching of foreign languages. The staff of the department works on the problems of gender linguistics, progressive teaching, comparative phraseology, theoretical and methodological problems of teaching foreign languages.
The teachers, students and graduates of the department take active part in international educational programs, regularly go abroad for education and practice.
The head of the department is Ph.D., associate professor Kairbaeva Akmaral Kanatbekovna.

Kairbayeva Akmaral Kanatbekovna
Position: candidate of pedagogical sciences, head of Foreign Philology department, Faculty of Humanities and Education of Pavlodar state university after S.Toraigyrov.
Kairbayeva A. began her professional career as a teacher of English at secondary school №27 in 1990 after graduating from Pavlodar Pedagogical Institute. Since 1993 she has been working in the system of Higher education.
From 1998 to 2001 she had a post-graduate course at Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages after Abylai khan.
In 2002 she defended candidate dissertation and got a scientific degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences.
Since 2003 -a head of Foreign Philology department of Pavlodar State university after S.Toraigyrov.
In 2008 she was awarded a grant of International Research and Exchange Board and within the University Administration Support Program she visited the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
In 2009- IREX grant for pilot project (PPG)
In 2011- Junior Faculty Development Program finalist
During her pedagogical and scientific career she published more than 30 research papers and 6 educational aids.
