In September 2011, the honored science worker of the Russian Federation, the honourable worker of higher education of the Russian Federation, a Doctor of biology science, professor Petukhov Valerii Lavrentievich has spent the course of lectures on the theme «Veterinary genetics» in the PSU named after S.Toraighyrov.

Petukhov Valerii Lavrentievich is the author of 600 works from which more than 130 are published abroad, 6 textbooks for the high schools, many teaching aids, 8 monographies, 23 copyright certificates and patents. Valerii Lavrentievich is considered one of founders of a new science in the CIS – veterinary genetics, the founder of new discipline «Veterinary genetics», the author (joint authors) several editions of the textbook for high schools «Veterinary genetics», the founder of veterinary genetics and selection science school. During the lectures on a theme «Actual problems of modern genetics» for students of agronomics, biology, zootechnology and biotechnology, the teacher with a long standing has easily found understanding not only with students and also with all faculty which was at lectures. Lectures have been given in the form like conversation, owing to ease atmosphere it was easily perceived by listeners .

Course of lectures has started with the general concepts about a science «Veterinary genetics», Valerii Lavrentievich has smoothly passed to the basic problems of modern genetics, adduce many facts and cases. According to Valerii Lavrentievich,  from all sciences there is on the first place pedagogics, on the second agronomics and then zootechnology.

In the end of lecture received information was summed up and fixated. Petukhov Valerii Lavrentievich has left only the most positive impressions for the whole year for all faculty of Agrotechnology.
